Clinical study on serum 25(OH)D level in patients with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis
Objective:Through the detection of the serum 25 (OH) D level of patients with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis (AR), we preliminarily explored the mechanism of vitamin D on AR and provided evidence for the control of AR. Method:Eighty cases of moderate to severe AR and 65 healthy adults were selected as the subjects. The level of 25 (OH) D was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the serum 25 (OH) D level of eight common serum allergens in patients with moderate to severe AR was analyzed. Result:The level of serum 25 (OH) D of AR group was (29.4±4.7)ng/ml, and the serum level of 25 (OH) D in the control group was (30.9±5.9)ng/ml, no ...

The expression of long non-coding RNA LINC00261 in laryngeal carcinoma tissue and their clinical significance
Objective:To investigate the expression of LINC00261 in laryngeal carcinoma and to discuss their relevance and the roles in carcinogenesis and development of laryngeal carcinoma. Method:The expressions of LINC00261 in laryngeal carcinoma tissue and paired adjacent normal tissue was determined by real-time PCR. The relationship between the expressions of LINC00261 and the clinic pathological characteristics including clinical stage, pathological type, histological grade and lymph node metastasis in LSCC was analysed according to the clinical data. Result:①The expression of LINC00261 was significantly decreased in the LSCC tissue compared with the normal laryngeal tissue(P<0.01).②In clinical stage grouping, there were no statistical differences of the quantity of LINC00261 expression ...

Comparison of the serum metabolic signatures based on 1H NMR between patients and a rat model of deep vein thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) have high morbidity, reduce quality of life, and can cause death. Biomarkers or genetic risk factors have not been identified in patients with DVT. In present study, serum of 61 patients suffering from DVT and a rat DVT model (n = 10) were assayed by a proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) metabolomics technique combing with ...

Combining the randomized response technique and the network scale-up method to estimate the female sex worker population size: an exploratory study
OBJECTIVES: Recall bias, barrier effects, transmission error, and response bias affecting the network scale-up method (NSUM) led the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World Health Organization to designate NSUM as a developing method for estimating the size of high-risk populations in 2010. The method has subsequently been adjusted for three of these biases. The present study, therefore, aimed to explore the combination of the randomized response technique (RRT) and NSUM to adjust the last remaining bias....

Persistently Increased Resting Energy Expenditure Predicts Short-Term Mortality in Patients with Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure
OBJECTIVE: Hypermetabolism based on measurements of resting energy expenditure (REE) is suggested to be a potential biomarker for predicting the clinical outcomes of some diseases. We aimed to evaluate the potential value of hypermetabolism for predicting the short-term (28-day) mortality of patients with hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF)....
